THE LODGE
Katie is born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario. Brought up on a hobby farm, she developed a keen interest for nature. She studied biological sciences and teacher education. Katie has been a teacher for 10 years. Her sweet and gentle character will make you feel like home.

Ricardo was born in Madrid Spain where he lived, worked and studied for 30 years. Ricardo arrived his first time to Canada in 1997 and fell in love with Canadian nature, especially the Canadian Shield. After living in several different countries around the world he decided to settle down here in 2005. He has a passion for people , wilderness, adventures and sports. His european spanish personality will keep you entertained. He speaks fluently in English, French and Spanish.

Together they founded Sheffield Rock Lodge in 2015 and El Norte Lodge in 2018

The idea of the Lodge came after travelling to many different places in Canada in search of the "Wilderness" experience. Ricardo could not find any accomodation or personal experience he always dreamt about. He decided to create his own. They founded and operated for 2 years Sheffield Rock Lodge. They sold it in 2017 in the search for a biger property in a better location.
El Norte Lodge was founded in 2018. It combines all the features that will make you have the best memories. The result is a house in nature with the comforts and spirit of "The True North". They tried to combine the best of Nature, decoration, food and personal experience. They encourage you to contact them to customize your trip. They will make sure that you have an amazing experience.
